Meet Aldo Ruberto – Running for Councillor at Large for Thunder Bay 2018

I am 62 years old and have been married to Lori Ruberto, a retired principal and former teacher, for 34 years.  We have two children: Casey 29 and Jessi 28. Both are fortunate enough to be living and working in Thunder Bay.  I graduated from Port Arthur Collegiate in 1975 and went on to Lakehead University where I graduated in Physical Education in 1978, specializing in Outdoor Recreation.  I was an independent small business owner who retired after 31 years . My other work experiences include teaching for the Department of National Defense (1992-1993) in Lahr Germany and working at Lakehead University in the department of Lifelong Learning.

My life experiences have played a major role in who I am and how I deal with people and issues. As a councillor, board member and committee member, I am faced with making key decisions which have long lasting community and individual effects… I have had to work with a team, as well as individually to make key decisions.  As a councillor I have a duty to research the issues, listen carefully to arguments, assess situations, and then make decisions which benefit all.

I am extremely optimistic about the future of this city. We are headed in the right direction and must continue looking for the opportunities to help move us forward.  I have been on City Council for the last 12 Years, and during those years I have worked passionately to make this city the best it can be.  I not only love this city, I LIVE this city! On October 22 I am asking for your vote.  Please vote Aldo Ruberto Councillor at Large!

Key priorities are (in no specific order): Continue addressing community safety issue, continue implementing strategies addressing the homelessness and poverty.  Continue working with the Indigenous population to make Thunder Bay safe and inviting for all. Attract targeted businesses to relocate to Thunder Bay by creating a business environment which helps companies in every way possible. Instilling pride and a positive outlook in Thunder Bay through better communications of the positive things that are happening, while addressing the .Do anything and everything possible to make Thunder Bay a great place in which to live, work and play.
